Education chiefs and governors in 48 states came together to develop the common core, a set of college and career-ready standards for k-12th grades, in english, language arts, and mathematics.
The common core curriculum has created great buzz among educators and parents.
So for this week's street tweets question of the day we asked: What are your thoughts on the common core curriculum possibly being implemented in Louisiana schools?
Here's how some answered.
"I think common core would be an adjustment for both students as well as parents and teachers, but I think we could make progress."
"I think it would be okay if we have more standards and guidelines from the state and the parish, but we've been implementing for at least 2 years now and you know our guidelines are still not set in stone, in my opinion, the way they should be."
