Double Duty for Dooley at Tech

Being a college football head coach is a stressful and time consuming job. Sleep is almost a foreign concept during the season.
But Louisiana Tech head coach Derek Dooley is confident that he can handle adding another full-time job to his schedule.
Dooley was announced Thursday as Tech's new athletic director. He'll replace Jim Oakes in June.
University president Dr. Dan Reneau said it was an easy decision to promote Dooley, considering his enthusiasm for all Bulldog and Techster sports. His ability as a fundraiser was also a major selling point.
While it's not done anywhere else at the top level of college sports, having the same man as athletic director and head football coach has been tried before with success. Derek's dad, Vince Dooley, served in the dual capacity at Georgia.
