Another Bad Weekend at the Box

After losing the first two games against Georgia Friday and Saturday, the LSU baseball team looked like it was going to salvage the series finale. But not even a seven-run lead was safe at Alex Box Stadium Sunday.
Paul Mainieri watched his team score 10 runs, a number that usually translates into a victory. Micah Gibbs’s RBI base hit in the bottom of the sixth capped a three-run inning, and made the tiger advantage 10 to 3.
But UGA inched back, scoring four in the seventh, one in the eighth, and then two in the ninth to tie the score at 10-10. Robbie O'Bryan's home run evened the score.
Neither team could score in extra innings. A travel curfew caused the game to be called after 12 frames.
So, LSU slips to 6-11-1 in the SEC, putting the Tigers at fifth place in the western division.
