Jordan Jefferson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as Destrehan beat defending champion Acadiana to win the Class 5A state title and remain undefeated.
Jefferson completed 10 of 13 for 220 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown pass to Tim Molton and a 33-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Armstrong. He rushed eight times for 40 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown.
It was the first 5A title for the top-seeded Wildcats (15-0). The 14th-seeded Wreckin' Rams (11-4) were in their third straight title game.
Destrehan led 28-14 at halftime, but Acadiana closed to 28-21 when Jonathan Morvant threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Spencer Trahan with 6:58 left in the third quarter.
The Wildcats came back with Jefferson's touchdown pass to Armstrong and a 16-yard touchdown run by Damaris Johnson to lead 41-21 after three quarters.
