SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — Shreveport City Councilman Sam Jenkins is pushing for a new community park to be built in the lakeside community.
The project has been approved by the council but the City has stalled on acquiring the lot for the park.
Funds have already been secured from unused funds from the 2001 General Obligation Bonds.
Jenkins says that this is a key project to help revitalize one of Shreveport’s oldest communities.
“I think if we sat down and planned with the city and we talk about master planning, we talk about good use of green space, we talk about trying to make neighborhoods more sustainable, this is a step in each one of those good directions."
