A Shreveport woman is booked for prostitution after gunfire interrupted in an alleyway meeting.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers were called to the intersection of Sycamore Avenue and Myrtle Street to reports of a shooting. When police arrived on scene, they found Travis L. Walker, 29, of El Dorado, Arkansas, with gun shot wounds to his shoulder and ear. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives learned Walker had apparently come to Shreveport and was driving around when he came upon Thelma J. Anderson, 51, of Shreveport. Walker gave Anderson a ride and the two of them pulled into an alleyway near Sycamore Avenue and Myrtle Street, allegedly to talk.

While the two were parked there, a gray car, possibly a Honda, pulled up. Three men got out and approached the car, then at least one of them started firing shots, two of which hit Walker. Walker drove out of the alley and into the street where he was found by authorities. Anderson ran from the scene, but was located quickly.

Investigators have charged Anderson with one count of prostitution and booked her into the Shreveport City Jail. They are still working to identify and apprehend the suspect or suspects responsible for shooting Walker and are asking anyone with any information regarding this crime to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
