Shreveport authorities have arrested a man after he allegedly beat his girlfriend's sister in the head until a family member stabbed him in the back.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, at around 2:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to a house in the 3900 block of Lakeshore Drive to reports of a fight. When police arrived, they found Coby Bell, 29, with multiple stab wounds to his back. He was taken to a local hospital with what were thought to be serious injures. However, he was treated and released.

Detectives later learned Bell, who apparently has been staying at the home with his girlfriend, had gotten into a fight with one of her sisters, identified as 31-year-old Erica Tate. According to witnesses, Bell got on top of Tate and began hitting her in the head and face when another relative, Raven Tate, 21, grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the back. Erica Tate suffered injuries to her upper body as a result of the attack.

Authorities charged Coby Bell, of El Dorado, Arkansas, with one count of simple battery and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail. At this time, no charges have been filed against Raven Tate.
