ZACHARY, LA — UPDATE: Fire investigators have confirmed Pastor Bridget Barns Steib and her sister Lucielle Brown have been arrested on charges of Arson.
Her million-dollar home went up in flames earlier this week.
Fire officials say both are responsible for setting the fire that destroyed 25 percent of the home.
ORIGINAL STORY: The home of a well-known pastor in Zachary caught fire this morning. We’re told no one was injured, however, there was an extensive amount of damaged caused.
The Zachary Fire Department responded to the call at the home on Jacock Road shortly before 9:00 a.m. They say flames were shooting through the roof by the time they arrived.
Family members said at that time in the morning the house is usually full of people, both old and young, so it was a miracle no one was hurt. The home belongs to the Steib family of the 'Ministry of Love Congregation'.
A family member said the family will re-build, and emphasized that all the important things in the home were left un-touched.
"Everybody is ok. And we just thank God for that. So we just, you know, want prayer and to let everyone know that everything will be ok. And that the pastor is fine, and her family is fine," said Sharon Olden, a family member.
Investigators believe the fire started in a utility room and may have been caused by a faulty dryer. However, the cause is still under investigation.
