Hosston, LA — The woman who died in this morning's wreck has been identified as Gertha Jackson, 41, of Shreveport.

A FedEx driver was pronounced dead at the scene this morning following a wreck in Hosston.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 71 near Hale School Road.

Caddo Parish deputies tell KMSS the driver was heading northbound when she tried to pass a car and swerved off the road to avoid a head-on collision. The woman was thrown from the truck.

It is unknown if the FedEx driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
