Bossier City police have caught and arrested two suspects who allegedly broke into several vehicles Saturday night at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

Anthony Jerrell Gross, 20, and Reginald Demichel Johnson, 17, both of Shreveport, were taken into custody early Sunday morning for burglary after a witness reported seeing them breaking into vehicles in the parking lot near the IHop Restaurant.

The suspects reportedly were seen late Saturday night going through the parking lot lifting door handles on unlocked vehicles and rummaging through them. Several items, including purses, electronics and money were taken. Officers responded to the scene and began a search for the Gross and Johnson. Bossier City police also notified Shreveport police of the incident and provided suspect descriptions in case the suspects escaped into Shreveport over the Texas Street Bridge.

Shreveport police located the duo a short time later, later identified as Gross and Johnson, on bicycles in downtown Shreveport and notified Bossier City police. Both were subsequently arrested by Bossier City police and booked into the Bossier City Jail each on seven counts of simple burglary.

Some of the stolen items were also recovered by Bossier City police.  Detectives say additional arrests are possible.
