Bossier City, La (KMSS) — Car and truck sales were up 8.5% in April 2013 over the previous year, selling 1.285 of them, with trucks being a major seller.
While Ford's F-series was up 24% from 2012, and General Motors Silverado and GMC Sierra were up 23%, the big winner was the Dodge Ram, up 49% from April 2012.
Locally, dealerships were worried about following up a successful "Truck Month" of February and March, but April showed no signs of slowing down consumer demand.
Landers Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram sold 46 of their popular Rams, making them, once again, the highest selling Ram dealership in all of Louisiana.
They attribute those sales to two main factors, and resurging economy and pent up demand for new cars.
But why the Ram? According to industry experts that rank vehicles, the Ram is their recommendation when it comes to trucks. Landers Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram agrees, saying that the revamped 2013 Ram has a lot of innovations, not found in any other truck.
