Bossier City, La — The Bossier District Attorney’s Office today presented the Bossier City Police Department with a check in the amount of $8,811.30 from property seized as a result of numerous drug investigations conducted from May through July of this year.
Assistant District Attorney Mike Nerren presented Chief of Police Shane McWilliams with the check representing 60% of the total amount of assets seized from suspects in 27 narcotics investigations. Those assets include items such as cash, vehicles and other property. The Bossier City Police Department will use the money to fund future drug enforcement operations in the city.
The district attorney’s office receives 20% of the total asset funds while the remaining 20% goes to the Bossier Parish Criminal Court Fund.
