Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — The Louisiana second amendment sales tax holiday starts today.
People purchasing firearms alone with hunting and fishing supplies will be exempt from the 4-percent sales tax along with all local sales taxes.
James Higdon who works at Lorant’s Sporting Goods says this is one of the busiest times of the year.
"It's a great thing, it gets everybody out interested to save some money, getting ready for hunting season, duck hunting season and they just love to save money."
The tax holiday ends this Sunday.
