Troy Broussard, of “Swamp People" on The History Channel, caused a major accident that injured one in downtown Shreveport Monday morning.

The crash happened around 9:00 a.m., at the corner of Lake Street and Market Street.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, Broussard was driving southbound on Market St., when he ran a red light and hit an SUV that was headed east on Lake St.

The SUV hit Broussard's trailer, which was pulling an airboat, and sent the boat flying.

Broussard claimed low electrical lines attached to the signal lights distracted him.

The crash not only injured one person, but snapped an electrical pole, leaving downtown businesses powerless for hours.

The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital and their injuries are unknown at this time.

Broussard was headed back to south Louisiana after spending the weekend in Shreveport for the Forrest Wood Cup fishing tournament.
