Bossier City/ Shreveport, La — A suspect in a weekend burglary sits behind bars after being tracked down by officers.
Last Saturday, Shreveport Police Officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Forest Avenue relative to a burglary. Upon officers arrival there, they made contact with the business owner who advised them that on entering his business, he observed a television along with a .22 caliber rifle had been stolen from inside. While still on scene at the burglary, witnesses informed authorities that a male subject that had been seen with the business owner earlier in the day, was the same man spotted peering through the window of the business the previous day when the business officer was not present. The male subject was identified as 28 year old Christopher Geter of the 200 block of Topeka Street in Shreveport. It was soon learned that Geter was known by the victim and an employee of the business.
Investigators were able to locate Geter and initiate contact with him, during which time he was detained for questioning. Following interviews with investigators, Geter was found to be the person responsible for committing the burglary of the business. The rifle stolen from the business was recovered and returned to the business owner. Geter was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary.
