Surveillance video shows persons of interest in ETX homicide

UPDATE:

Using surveillance video from David James Cherry's home, Marshall Police Department has singled out two persons of interest in a homicide investigation.

Friends and loved ones are hopeful that the responsible parties will be brought to justice quickly. They want the family to have closure on Cherry's murder.

They are helping Marshall Police Dept. in any way possible, many people close to Cherry spent the morning at the police station, giving detectives information they might find helpful.

Marshall, TX (KMSS) — East Texas law enforcement officers are investigating a murder after they responded to a 911 call early Friday morning.

According to the Marshall Police Department, at 1:27 a.m., dispatchers received a call about a man inside a house with blood on him, who would not come to the home's door.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found a man with a single gunshot wound to his head. He was later identified as David James Cherry, 28. Justice of the Peace Kenneth Alford pronounced him dead at the scene.
