Ark-La-Tex (KMSS) — Memorial Day weekend is coming up and summertime has officially kicked in for many students.
For parents who haven't yet figured what their children can do, here are a few options.
For those who love the outdoors, Pine Cove in Tyler texas might be good for your child.
They have wall climbing, zip lining, horse backriding, and other fun activities under the sun.
For the kids who can't keep away from school, you might consider taking them to college, just for summer camp, of course.
Kimberli Cavs talks about Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers has Camp Cavs.
"The kids they get to play on the BPCC baseball field, they get to play basket ball on our basket ball court, and they get to dance with the ladies in gold which is some of our performing dance line, here at BPCC. They get to have the same experience as our students, our college students as far as hanging out on our campus."
LSU in Shreveport is also offering a multitude of summer activities. KidU participants get to work on academics in the morning and get to take sports and arts related courses in the afternoon.
For kids who enjoy making money or are into healthcare, Anthony Reans of LSUS says they offer baby sitting classes.
"The baby sitter's class is administered by the Red Cross here on campus. The students learn CPR, they become certified in pediatric first aid and CPR."
These are just some of the camps in the ARK-LA-TEX.
Whatever it is your kids are interested in, there's an activity, camp or summer class for that.
