Shreveport, La — In the past few months, robberies seems to be a daily occurrence in Shreveport, but actually through October 31 of this year, robberies are only up by 58 from the same period last year. And the police department says that in the big picture, this is a huge improvement from about 20 years ago, when robberies were off the charts.
After the Robbery Intervention Detail arrested the men suspected of committing about a dozen robberies in Shreveport alone, the hopes were that things were turning around.
But then another robbery occurred, this time a Shell station in the 9400 block of Mansfield Road.
Even with the most recent robbery, police are still happy with the work RID is doing.
A shop employee we spoke to, follows the tips that RID advises to keep safe, but also says he turns to God to keep him safe while he is working. And knock on wood, that has kept him safe so far.
