Shreveport (KMSS) — Caddo Parish officials are searching for man who disappeared into the Red River this morning after he jumped from a bridge Thrusday night.
Just before 9 p.m., four men were on a sandbar south of the railroad bridge near Stoner Avenue when two of the men decided to jump off the bridge. After jumping, one of the men made it back to the river bank, but the other could not swim to safety and began yelling for help. His friend attempted to help, but couldn't locate the man in the water.
Deputies and firefighters from the Caddo and Bossier Sheriff's Offices and Shreveport and Bossier City Fire Departments searched for the missing person until after midnight to no avail. The search began again Friday morning.
The missing man has been identified as Desmond Desdunes, 22, of Shreveport.
