SISTER ACT: Sisters arrested attempting to smuggle marijuana at TX port of entry
BROWNSVILLE, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Two sisters were handed over to Brownsville narcotic agents and arrested for attempting to smuggle over 93 pounds of marijuana at a port of entry.
On Monday, December 9, the two sisters, identified as Micaela Fonseca, 24, and Claricia Fonseca, 25, attempted to cross into the United States in a Lincoln Navigator at the Gateway port of entry.
During an inspection of the vehicle, custom officers found 22 bundles, weighing over 93 pounds, in a spare tire.
Both sisters were arrested and handed over to Brownsville police and are awaiting arraignment.
