Shreveport — A Shreveport man was busted wheeling a neighborhood's goods away on a dolly Friday afternoon.
Police tell KMSS an officer spotted Tommy J. Neal, 35, walking in the Highland neighborhood with a dolly loaded down with merchandise stolen from a local church.
Neal was stopped by authorities at the intersection of College Street and Centenary Boulevard with a two-wheeled dolly with a trash covered by a white sheet. Knowing there have been burglaries in the area, the arresting officer search the can and discovered stolen musical equipment from the Noel Methodist Church on the 500 block of Herndon Street.
Responding detective found other items stolen from the church in a vacant house on the 1600 block of Highland Avenue. The loot included kitchen utensils, books, food and ice chests.
Several burglary cases are believed to be solved with the arrest of Neal.
Neal was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary of a religious building and one count of illegal possession of stolen things.
Authorities will be working to determine if he is responsible for other similar crimes in the area.
