Shreveport resident accused of being gunman in October shooting
Shreveport, LA — A local man sits behind bars Thursday morning after he allegedly shot another man last month in west Shreveport.
At around 2:10 a.m., on October 21, officers were called to an apartment in the 4200 block of Greenwood Lane to an apparent shooting.
When officers made it to the location, they found Jeffery Sims, 30, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. Sims was taken to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with serious injuries.
Detectives were able to determine James Norman, 20, of Shreveport, as a suspect in this case. Authorities believe Norman shot Sims during some sort of dispute between the two men.
Investigators found Norman Thursday at a house on Lyba Street and arrested him. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated second degree battery.
