UPDATE: Timothy Mathew, 22, of the 2600 block of Via Caballero in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of simple robbery, resisting an officer, and attempted simple escape.

UPDATE: Police, along with U.S. Marshals, captured the suspected Capital One bank robber at Whataburger on Bert Kouns near Youree Dr. in Shreveport.

Authorities believe the suspected robber may have changed clothes in Old Navy on Youree Dr. and then walked to Whataburger where someone inside the restaurant contacted authorities.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Shreveport authorities are scouring neighborhoods for a man who knocked off a bank Wednesday afternoon.

According to Assistant Chief of Police Bill Goodin, a man entered the Capital One Bank on the 5700 block of Youree Drive around 2:40 p.m. and demanded money. The robber told the teller he had a gun, but it's unclear at this time if he was in fact possessing a firearm.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money from the employee, he ran southwest into a neighborhood. The robber is described as a slender, scruffy black male who is about 6 feet tall.

No one was injured during the heist.
