Shreveport Police Department is making an effort to complete portions of the Shreveport Police Department's Historical Yearbook.

Personnel from the department's Yearbook Committee are making an appeal to the public, past service members, or family members of past service members of the Shreveport Police Department to provide images of themselves or their loved ones, either of which have served the city honorably.

The Shreveport Police Department has a rich history spanning nearly 175 years and would like to build on preserving that history by asking people with photos or news articles relative to former members or past police chiefs of the department to provide them in consideration for use in the yearbook.

The selected images would be returned to the owner upon completion and would greatly help in efforts to move towards the department's goal of completing a well diversified and inclusive compilation of past and present departmental history.

Anyone interested in aiding this effort are asked to contact Lt. Gayle McFarland at 318-673-6924 or Sgt. Don Vishneski at 318-673-6955.
