Shreveport Police investigating fatal vehicle vs bike crash
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport Police have identified the teen who died Saturday afternoon follwing a Friday evening crash in east Shreveport.
It happened Friday just before 4:30 p.m. when members of the Shreveport Police Department's Patrol Division responded to a vehicle versys bicycle crash at the intersection of East 79th Street and Thornhill Avenue.
On arrival, it was found that Divorious Magee, 16, of Shreveport had been struck while riding his bicycle by a car driven by Titania Johnson of Shreveport.
Magee was taken to a local hospital suffering from serious injuries.
Shreveport Police investigators were called to the scene of the accident.
Evidence gathered at the scene of the crash found tha Magee was traveling southbound on East 79th Street at Thornhill Avenue when he reportedly disregarded a stop sign at the intersection there.
Johnson was not injured in the crash, but she was taken to a local hospital for a toxicology test.
It was found that Johnson did not have a valid driver's license at the time of the accident. She was cited for the violation.
Magee succumbed to his injuries Saturday afternoon.
The accident is still under investigation.
