Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport Police are working to determine how a little boy died early this morning in west Shreveport.
It happened at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when Shreveport Police were called to apartment in the 3500 block of Milam Street for an EMS call.
On arrival, officers were in contact with Shreveport Fire Department who reported they had responded to a medical emergency at the home when they found a 13-month-old baby unconscious and unresponsive. The child was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives and officials with the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office were called and they immediately began their investigation.
Crime scene investigators process the home on Milam Street for any potential evidence as well.
At least one adult was at the residence when authorities arrived on scene and he was taken to the Shreveport Police Complex where he was interviewed by detectives.
No charges have been filed at this time but there is an inquiry going on and investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
