Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a male suspect they believe committed multiple home invasions in Shreveport.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. on August 29, 2012, investigators with the Shreveport Police Department’s Tactical Robbery Unit arrived at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Drive near Legardy Street where they took into custody 47 year old Michael Harris as he exited a Sportran bus there. A warrant for the arrest of Harris had been signed only hours earlier by a Caddo Parish District Judge after it was learned that several items stolen in two separate home invasions were discovered pawned by Harris at local pawn shops.

Harris, of the 1600 block of Princess Elaine Street is accused of committing home invasions occurring in the 1300 block of Easy Street as well as the 300 block of Bellmead Street. Harris, who was booked into the Shreveport City Jail, has been charged with aggravated burglary, home invasion and is currently being held on one million dollars bond. Authorities are continuing their investigation into these and other incidents that they believe Harris may have possible connection to.

Anyone having any information regarding these or other crimes is urged to call Shreveport Police Detectives at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
