Shreveport Police arrest woman in connection with shooting
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport Police have arrested a local woman who is in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a Shreveport man earlier this week.
Just before midnight on Friday, May 10, 2013, Shreveport Police arrested a Shreveport woman in connection with a Tuesday night shooting that claimed the life of Prentiss Britton, 21. During the investigation, detectives found information revealing that Demetrice Smith, 36, played a big role in helping her son, Andrew Smith, 19, to avoid him being caught by police.
Andrew Smith is accused of shooting Britton several times on Tuesday evening at the Cooper Road Plaza Apartments in North Shreveport.
Authorities have charged Demetrice Smith with accessory after her role in helping her son run from police.
Ms. Smith has been booked into Shreveport City Jail.
