Shreveport officer takes international award

A Shreveport Police sergeant receives international acclaim following a Crime Stoppers International Conference last week.

Sergeant Jim Taliaferro, a 22 year veteran of the Shreveport Police Department, was selected as Crime Stoppers 2012 International Coordinator of the Year and recognized as such at the organization’s 33rd annual global conference held last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sergeant Taliaferro was selected from among a group of more 800 Crime Stoppers programs from more than 26 countries around the world.

Through combined efforts and contributions from the private sector, the Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers program additionally received accolades for producing the best television public service announcement for populations up to 300,000. A heart felt thanks is extended to Mr. Marion Marks of MMCC Inc., for his technical contributions in receiving the honor bestowed on the program.
