Shreveport officer charged with assaulting husband

Shreveport Police officials have charged a Shreveport communications officer with a misdemeanor following a complaint received by the department this morning.

At approximately 6:25 a.m. on October 8, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 5600 block of Buncombe Road relative to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, patrolmen contacted 34 year old Markus Vincent who reported to them his wife, later identified as 30 year old Alicia Vincent, had physically assaulted him following a verbal disagreement.

Upon further investigation, officers learned that Mrs.Vinson was a police communications officer and police supervisors were immediately notified. Based on information gathered by authorities during their inquiry, Alicia Vinson, of the 5600 block of Buncombe Road in Shreveport, was subsequently charged with one count of domestic abuse battery. Vinson, who was hired by the department in October of 2006, has been placed on paid administrative leave by Chief of Police Willie Shaw in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Shreveport Fire and Police Civil Service Board.
