Shreveport Police are investigating an apparent home invasion attempt that left one man dead Saturday morning in west Shreveport.

It happened at 3:30 a.m. in the3800 block of Murvon Street for a shooting.

On arrival at the residence, police found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds to the upper body. The man, Malcolm Fuller, 24, was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene officials were called to the scene and began an investigation.

Interviews were conducted at headquarters with the occupants of the home and potential witnesses to the incident.

During the interviews, information was gathered that suggested a man dressed in dark clothing, wearing a covering over his face, forced his way inside the home armed with two handguns.

Officers were told the man entered the home and demanded the occupants hand over money. During this time, a person inside the home saw what was taking place and engaged Fuller and fired his handgun at him multiple times.

At this time the investigation is still going and there are additional details to be added. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.
