Shreveport man injured in early morning shooting
shreveport — A local man is recovering from serious injuries this morning following a shooting in Shreveport's Cedar Grove neighborhood.
At approximately 4:34 a.m. on July 1, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the emergency room at LSUHSC in the 1500 block of Kings Highway relative to a male patient there who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers contacted medical personnel who reported 26 year old John Henry Lee, who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, had been dropped off at the emergency room by someone in a private vehicle. Lee is expected to recover from his injuries.
Detectives immediately responded and were able to briefly interview Lee before he was taken into surgery. He could only tell investigators he was shot somewhere on St. Vincent Avenue near west 75th Street. Later police recovered a vehicle with several bullet holes in it that they believe may be involved in this incident and their inquiry is ongoing at this hour.
