Shreveport man hospitalized after breaking up fight; police arrest one
Shreveport — A Shreveport man was hospitalized after breaking up a fight in the downtown area Thursday.
At around 7:30 p.m., officers were called to a stabbing near the intersection of McNeil Street and Lake Street. When they arrived, police found 51-year-old Gregory Strauss suffering from a cut to the face. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Upon further investigation, they discovered Strauss had tried to stop a dispute between 22-year-old Joshua D. Owens and another man, when Owens allegedly pulled out some sort of edged weapon and cut him.
Owens, of Shreveport, was apprehended without incident at the scene of the crime and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated second degree battery.
