Shreveport, La — A Shreveport man was taken into custody Thursday after he allegedly attacked his elderly aunt with a knife.
It happened on Tuesday at a home on the 3700 block of Murvon Street, according to the Shreveport Police Department. Investigators believe the stabbing stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Garland Murray, 48, and Mary Woodard, 73.
Police say the two were arguing when Murray allegedly pulled a knife and cut Woodard on the back of her hand, then left the scene. She was taken to local hospital with minor injuries.
Murray was arrested without incident and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated battery.
