Shreveport man arrested in connection with shooting

UPDATE (5/31/2013 4:51 p.m.): Lucas Taylor, 30, has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a Shreveport man on May 20th.
 


A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a shooting that injured a Shreveport man earlier this month.

Back on May 20, 2013, Shreveport Police officers responded to the 300 block of West 77th Street relative to reports that a man had been shot there. Upon officers arrival at the scene, contact was made with an adult male who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the thigh.

The man, identified as Brian James, 23, was transported to LSUHSC with what was described as non life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit arrived on scene at the shooting launching an investigation. During the ongoing probe, authorities gathered information linking  Lucas Taylor, 30, to the crime.

Authorities have since procured a warrant for the arrest of Taylor who now faces charges of Illegal use of a weapon. Bond has been set in the amount of 250,000.00 in the matter.
