Shreveport home invasion suspect surrenders to authorities
sHREVEPORT — A Shreveport man is now in police custody following an alleged home invasion Tuesday evening in west Shreveport.
Just before 11:00 p.m. on March 11, 2014, Shreveport Police officers were called to a home located in the 2800 block of Morningside Drive relative to a domestic disturbance. Upon officers arrival at the scene, it was learned an adult female had reportedly been physically assaulted by her ex-boyfriend after he arrived at her home, made forcible entry and committed a subsequent battery on her person. The woman was not seriously injured during the ordeal.
Shreveport Police detectives arrived on scene at the home, initiating an investigation into the allegations. During their inquiry, authorities were able to gather evidence linking 36 year old Cameron Cooley to the crime. Police arrested Cooley a short time later after his arrival and surrender to authorities at the Shreveport City Jail. Following interviews with investigators, Cooley was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of Home Invasion.
