Shreveport authorities post results of safety checkpoint

The Shreveport Police Department is releasing the results of a safety checkpoint held last weekend.

The checkpoint was held Saturday night, June 30, 2012 in the 2000 block of Clyde Fant Parkway as an integral component of an ongoing, singular commitment on the part of law enforcement officials to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on our roadways. Officers with the police department, troopers with the Louisiana State Police and deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office were checking for impaired drivers as well as any other violations that could potentially compromise the safety of motorists.

During the four hour operation officers screened a total of 404 vehicles and issued 16 citations for 24 total violations ranging from open container to no insurance. Five subjects were arrested and they are listed as follows:

Justin Tucker, 22 years old, of the 1100 block of Billups Avenue in Marshall, Texas, booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and one count simple possession of marijuana

Nicholas Spann, 23 years old, booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated

Mallory Rickert, 24 years old, of the 1600 block of Hidden Falls Court in Prosper, Texas, booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated

Lee Coleman, 24 years old, of the 200 block of East Jordan Street in Shreveport, booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated

Tadarien Hymes, 21 years old, of the 3600 block of Dee Street in Shreveport, booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated
