Second arrest made in officer involved shooting

A secod man is now in custody after an ongoing investigation into an officer involved shooting last Saturday.

On January 18, 2013, Shreveport Police arrested a local man who had allegedly fired several rounds from a semi-automatic rifle into a crowd of onlookers in the 5200 block of Monkhouse Drive.

The gunman, Ronald Hill, 26, was shot by an on duty Shreveport Police officer after he refused to follow officer orders to stop firing and to drop his weapon.

Hill was treated at a local hospital and continues to recover.

He was later charged with one count of illegal use of a weapon.

During the investigation, authorities gathered more information linking a second man to the incident.

Evidence gathered at the scene of the crime paired with other informatoin connected, Antoine Jackson, 29, to the crime.

Jackson was arrested Friday after authorities obtained an arrest warrant charging him with a single count of illegal use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Jackson was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. 

Bond has been set at $150,000.
