Search underway for suspect involved in fatal shooting in Shreveport

A search is underway for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a Shreveport man.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Friday night when Shreveport Police officers were called to a home located in the 3800 block of Huston Street for reports of a man who had been shot. 

On arrival, officers found a man lying in the front yard of his home suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The victim, Marcus Wright, 41, of Shreveport, was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene of th eincident and they immediately began an investigation into the shooting.

Based on information at the scene, authorities believe that Wright was shot during an argument regarding some aspect of a transaction involving the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Authorities are currently looking to develop leads in this case and are asking citizens for help in recovering information on this crime.
