State Representative Barbara Norton spent the day in Shreveport, first attending a graduation, and then bring smiles to 6 schools in her district.

There have been many recent budget cuts, and more seems to be pending, and Norton wanted to try to combat those cuts however possible. House Bill 1 allocated the fund that Norton was able to give to the schools.

Each of the 6 schools received a check for $2,500, funds for which they were extremely grateful.

Last year Norton was able to give schools $30,000 to ensure schools are giving students the best education possible.

Norton made that promise to her constituents 6 years ago when she first ran, and that promise guides her actions as she represents the people of her district.
