An Ark-La-Tex native saw his first documentary premiere on the big screen in Bossier City this weekend. Rev. C.L. Bryant grew up in Shreveport and lives in DeSoto Parish with his wife, Jane. For the past 3 years, he's been working on Runaway Slave, which focuses on the tea party political movement and its potential impact within the black community.
Bryant says the film aims to change the conversation across the country. "Let's forget about black and white for just a moment, and let's think about an economic ship that is sinking," he said. The film has already shown screenings at CPAC 2012 in Chicago and Los Angeles, but the Bossier City premiere was the first to open to the public.
Runaway Slave is set to debut in theaters nationwide later this month.
