Natchitoches, La (KMSS) — Shreveport's elusive dog park is one step closer to happening.
Although he wasn't able to make the meeting of the Red River Waterway Commission, Shreveport mayor Cedric Glover requested that the proposed location be moved from Hamels Memorial Park to Stoner Beach. The RRWC approved that request unanimously.
However, the mayor also requested the the RRWC manage the construction of the park as well. That request was unanimously turned down.
Shreveport's City Council will meet Friday to discuss a resolution which would allow the city to move forward with Stoner Beach as the proposed location.
