Robbers pin elderly woman under mattress as they loot home

Shreveport police are searching for the persons responsible for robbing an elderly woman Monday morning.

At around 1:35 p.m., officers were called to reports of a home invasion on the 6000 block of Greenwood Road. When officers arrived, an elderly woman told them she had been robbed by three men.

The victim says she heard a knock at her door at about 11:30 a.m., and when she opened the door, three men forced their way into her house. Once inside, they robbers pushed her into a bedroom, knocked her to the floor and placed a mattress on top of her.

While she was pinned under the mattress, the men ransacked her home and stole several items before leaving the scene of the crime.

The woman, who suffered minor injuries, was able to crawl out from under the mattress and call for help.
