Restaurant employees: Same man robs business twice in a week

Tuesday, December 4, 2012 - 2:24pm

Local authorities are searching for a man who robbed a restaurant at gunpoint Monday evening.

At 6:10 p.m., officers were called to the 3500 block of Jewella Avenue to reports of an armed robbery.

Once at the scene, witnesses told police a man armed with a handgun had entered Sam's Southern Eatery, jumped the counter and demanded money from a worker. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ran from the business and hopped in a dark blue mini van, possibly a Dodge model.

The thief is described as a black man, about 170 pounds, standing 5' 6" to 5' 9", wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and armed with a black semi automatic pistol.

Employees at the business say the robber is believed to be the same person that robbed the business last week.

Investigators urge anyone with information about this crime to contact Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
