Religion on the gridiron
Bossier City, LA — The day before a big game, you wouldn't think athletes would be taking time to go to a breakfast celebrating their religion, but that's exactly what players from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the University of Ohio did, along with hundreds of community members and local athletes.
All of the people decided to attend the breakfast put on by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for different reasons, and whatever their reason for attending, it brought people together and let them focus on their similarities.
Friday, they'll go back to focusing on football, but the winner might already be determined. About 90% of the time, the team with the most players attending the breakfast also wins the Independence Bowl.
