Police seek suspect in attempted robbery

Shreveport Police need your help to find a man accused of attempting to rob a local business last month. Back on June 28, 2013 at approximately 9:20 a.m., the suspect did enter the National Liquor bank located in the 700 block of West 70th Street and attempted to by several cigars. The suspect did not have enough money to complete the purchase so he began to haggle with the manager of the business in an attempt to get a discounted price. The suspect became enraged when the manager would not sell him the items at a discounted price. The manager told the suspect to leave or he would call the police.

The suspect then stated that he would give him a reason to call the police. The suspect then grabbed the register and slid it toward the front of the counter in what appeared to be an attempt to take the entire register. The register was tied to the counter so the suspect let go of the register and grabbed the managers Iphone before fleeing out the front door.

Video surveillance shows the suspect leaving the business following the act. The suspect is described as a black male, standing approximately five feet nine inches tall with a slender build ands a low cut Afro type hairstyle. He wearing a white shirt and plaid shorts.
