A Shreveport man suspected of breaking into several vehicles in a parking lot along the Red River has been arrested following a successful surveillance operation conducted by the Bossier City Police Department.

Kevin Lloyd Johnson, 32, of Shreveport was arrested Saturday morning by detectives with the BCPD Property Crimes Unit.

Detectives arrested Johnson while working their first day of an undercover surveillance operation at the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway Scenic Overlook #1 parking lot located across from the CenturyLink Center on the A.R. Teague Parkway.

The operation focused on that particular parking lot due to several vehicles being burglarized there since mid-December.

Detectives made contact with Johnson after he drove into the parking lot Saturday morning and appeared to be casing a vehicle that was parked there.

Upon questioning Johnson at police headquarters detectives arrested him on six counts of simple burglary in connection with the vehicle break ins that have occurred at that location.

Johnson was booked into the Bossier City Jail and later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
