SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — An old factory warehouse will soon be revitalized to help those that are in need.
In the upcoming months, organizers will transform an old warehouse located near downtown Shreveport into a place that various non-profit organizations that help homeless people can call home.
The Hope Connections Project will bring over 40 agencies together under one roof to help those who are homeless.
The 2,000 square foot day shelter will feature everything from a soup kitchen to individual and family assessment rooms.
Hope House is a day shelter that specifically serves those who are experiencing street homelessness in our area. The program provides shower facilities, laundry facilities, telephone service, and mail receipt service.
Officials say that the first phase of the new facility should be up and running by the end of this year.
