Authorities are investigating a late night crash that left a woman dead.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, Shreveport Police were dispatched to a wreck where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on North Hearne Avenue just south of Aero Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman who had apparently been struck by a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crash investigators immediately responded to the scene and, based on information and evidence gathered during the early stages of their inquiry, believe the pedestrian was walking southbound in a lane of travel on North Hearne Avenue when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Brian Wilson, 34, of Shreveport. Wilson’s vehicle was traveling southbound at the time of the crash.

Wilson voluntarily submitted to routine tests for impairment and at this point investigators do not believe he was impaired in any way. Their investigation is ongoing at this hour.
