Shreveport Police have arrested a man suspect of robbing several people in eastern Shreveport Sunday morning.

It happened just after 3:15 a.m. this morning. Shreveport Police were called to the 1700 block of Gilbert Drive for a report of an armed robbery.

On arrival, officers found that four men, while standing outside their vehicle, were approached by a purple colored sedan occupied by three unknown men, one of which was reportedly armed with a handgun.

The armed man exited the vehicle and demanded money and other personal belongings from the victims. After getting cash along with other items, the armed robber and the two other men accompanying him left the scene.

Fortunately no one was injured in the ordeal.

Shreveport Police launched an investigation and were able to gather information that lead to a home located in the 200 block of Herndon Street.

On arrival, officers found a vehicle that matched the description of the one used during the robbery and found several people inside the residence.

Investigation linked Demond Robinson, 29, of Shreveport to the crime. Robinson was taken into custody and booked into Shreveport City jail where he now faces four counts of armed robbery.

No other arrests have been made at this time, but the robbery is still under investigation at this time.
